KMSU Productions

KMSU Television Channel 19
Broadcasting over the airwaves of 20,000 households in the Minot area allows MSU's Broadcasting Department to take over MidCo’s Cable Channel 19. With over 20 hours of programming each week, KMSU-TV broadcasts its very own TV news program each Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m. called "Inside/Out." Other programs include live Beaver basketball games that the broadcasting students direct, edit, and anchor.

When KMSU isn't live on the air, public service announcements scroll across the screen while the KMSU Channel 19 radio station plays in the background with student DJ's controlling Minot's only Alternative Radio Station.

MSU Inside/Out
Students enrolled in this class produce, edit, promote, direct, and anchor the televised show each week. Watch KMSU-TV live on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. on MidCo Channel 19. Catch replays Thursdays at 6:30 p.m., and Friday at 2:30 p.m. & 6:30 p.m.

KMSU Radio Channel 19
The KMSU Channel 19 radio station is broadcast over Midco’s Channel 19 whenever KMSU-TV isn't airing programming. KMSU radio has an alternative format; some of the music played is sent from small record producers who give away CDs to college stations for promotional purposes.

KMSU Auction

The KMSU Auction is an annual fundraising event that is televised live to the Minot area for an entire evening. Students enrolled in Comm 354 (Special Events Planning) spend the semester learning to plan, complete, and evaluate this large-scale event. During the auction, students work both on and off camera to auction off a variety of packages (donated from local businesses) to callers who attempt to place the highest bid. Proceeds from the event help fund student travel to professional conferences and the allow the department to purchase new equipment that students use to complete class projects. Each year a portion of the proceeds are donated to a local non-profit organization.
