Guest and Family Programming

Guest and Family Programming is a series of presentations, workshops, and campus tour for guests and families of Minot State students. Guest and Family Programming is offered in conjunction with the New Student Orientation (NSO) program. Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. and the program will conclude by 4:00 p.m. Throughout the day, you will have select times where student and guest/family programming coincide.

Guest and Family Programming will provide you with an overview of the academic and co-curricular resources available to students at Minot State. You will meet faculty members, professional staff, and current students who will share their advice with you. Additionally, Guest and Family Programming is an opportunity to get your questions answered along with other guests and family members who are going through a similar transition. Orientation Leaders will be available throughout the day to guide you through the program schedule.

  • Guest and Family Programming is designed for adult guest and adult family members. Information presented may not be appropriate for younger siblings or children.
  • Guest and Family Programming run concurrently with student sessions and introduce the guest/family members to resources available to their student at Minot State. You will not be with your student for all sessions.
  • The cost for guest/family members is free for the first two guest/family members.  
  • When your student registers for a New Student Orientation (NSO) session online, they will be able to register guest or family members for programming. If you student has already registered for NSO and you would like to register as a guest, please contact Enrollment Services at 701-858-3350  or 1-800-777-0750 ext. 3350 or email at

Time Frame: The Guest and Family program is an all-day program, where sessions run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. As a guest or family participant, please plan to attend sessions during this timeframe (*Placement testing will begin at 7:00 a.m., for students wanting to take the placement tests. Guests and Families are welcome to grab a cup of coffee and take a self-guided tour of the campus while they are waiting for their student to complete the placement test.)
