Pre-Registration Checklist

It's go time! Before you arrive at Minot State's New Student Registration, please complete the steps below:

1. Claim your Campus Connection account. Write down your password and bring it to registration — you'll need this password to register for your classes.
   
   
2. Set up your Minot State email account.
   
   
3. Set up DUO authentication.
   
   
4. Accept your Financial Obligation Agreement. Instructions can be found here.
   
   

5. Apply for Minot State housing or fill out the Exemption Form.
   
   

6. Submit proof of immunization through the Minot State Student Health Portal. Once uploaded, Student Health will verify that you meet state requirements.
   
   
7. Fill out the Photo ID form by clicking here. Bring a government-issued photo ID for identification at pick up.
   
   

 Next Steps

1. Prepare for your advising session. This is your time to work one-on-one with an academic advisor to create your schedule and ask questions. During your advising appointment, your academic advisor will assist you with the following:
   • Review requirements for your major, including General Education requirements
   • Review course offerings
     
     Let your advisor know if you have completed or are interested in any of the following:
     • Advanced Placement (AP) exams
     • Dual Credit
     • Honors Program
     • Music ensembles
     • Leadership courses
     • Additional major(s) and/or minor(s)
       
       
2. Learn about First-Year Experience
   • This required experience assists the transition to university life and learning through unique learning communities, peer mentors, and opportunities to engage with the campus and larger community. Check out the learning communities available.
     
     
3. Schedule the Math or English ACCUPLACER Exam if needed. 
   
   • You are encouraged to take the ACCUPLACER exam prior to your first advising appointment. To determine if you should take a placement exam prior to registration, please contact an Admissions Counselor in Enrollment Services.
