COVID-19 Fall 21 Protocol

Our number one priority is the safety and well-being of our staff, students and community.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 the MSU Department of Nursing has made the following changes:

  1. Masks must be worn at all times within the Department of Nursing. This includes all nursing courses and lab/simulation.

  2. Hand sanitizer is to be used upon entering and leaving the classroom.

  3. Disinfecting wipes are located in every classroom. Student’s will wipe down their workstation before and after class. This includes computer lab use.

  4. A cleaning protocol has been developed to ensure equipment and simulations/lab environments are cleaned in between groups. Additional disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer is available at various work stations.

  5. Students will monitor for COVID 19 symptoms daily.

  6. If a student develops symptoms of COVID-19 per Symptoms of COVID-19 | CDC. The student will self-isolate and contact the Student Health Center at 701-858-3371 (Monday through Friday 0800-1630). Both rapid and PCR COVID-19 tests are available at the Student Health Clinic on campus. Contact 701-858-3371 for an appointment.

  7. The student may contact First District Health Unit (701-852-1376) to state the need for COVID-19 screening.

  8. If symptomatic, a negative test will be required prior to returning to class and clinical.

  9. If you test positive for COVID-19, report your case on the MINOT STATE COVID-19 SELF-REPORTING FORM. Your results will be provided to Minot State from the NDDOH and/or the contact tracing team at the University of North Dakota. All students and employees should follow the protocols recommended by the NDDOH and are not allowed to attend class on campus, participate in any on-campus activities, or work on campus until recovered. Meals will be delivered for on-campus residents who are on a meal plan.

  10. Students must sign the Department of Nursing COVID-19 Student Acknowledgement Form each semester as necessary.
