Kari Files, Instructor of English Horn, Oboe and Organ, received her BA from St. Olaf College; her BSE from Minot State University; and her MM from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin.

Ms. Files studied oboe with Rhadames Angelucci, who was the principal oboist of the Minnesota Orchestra for forty-two years.  Under the tutelage of Dr. John Behnke and Dr. Mark Dimond, she earned her master’s degree in Church Music with an organ emphasis.

Files is principal oboist for the Minot Symphony Orchestra.  She performs occasionally with the Minot Chamber Chorale, the Minot State Concert Choir, and the Minot Brass Band. She is a Deacon at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot, serving as Music Minister.

Ms. Files teaching career spans over thirty years. She is a musical director for Minot State University’s Summer Theatre productions. Ms. Files currently works as an instrumental music teacher for Minot Public Schools and is an English horn, oboe and organ instructor for Minot State University.
