Duo Two-Factor Authentication Requirement for Employees
Posted by Darren Olson on 21 March 2017 08:03 AM

To provide increased security, the North Dakota University System will implement Two-Factor Authentication (Duo) when accessing sensitive information in HRMS Employee Self-Service. Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your online accounts. Beginning April 4, 2017, all MSU faculty and staff will be required to enroll and authenticate with Duo Two-Factor Authentication before viewing paychecks, tax, and direct deposit information in HRMS from on and off campus locations.

For more information on Duo Two-Factor Authentication visit  https://guide.duo.com.

Do not approve Duo requests if not currently expecting one. Immediately contact IT support for assistance.

All MSU faculty and staff will be required to enroll and authenticate with Duo Two-Factor Authentication before viewing sensitive information in HRMS Employee Self Service - both on and off campus. Users will only need to enroll once.

To enroll or update your device settings please visit https://2fa.ndus.edu

Contact 701-858-4444 for assistance with Duo Two-Factor Authentication enrollment and authentication.

We have a new secure file transfer software called LiquidFiles that is provided by the NDUS. It can be used to send and receive files containing sensitive information that should never go over email unprotected.

“LiquidFiles is a virtual appliance that allows us to send and receive files, fast and securely. The application gives you the ability to send and request a file. Once you log into the site with your campus connection credentials, your account is ready to use. Files sent using the system are automatically deleted after 7 days and it has the capability to specify the maximum number of downloads.”
