Minot State University has canceled or postponed large-scale, on-campus events effective immediately through April 6. Individual events beyond the April 6 date will make a determination to change their schedule on a per-event basis.

In addition, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced the suspension of all athletic activities for each of its 16-member institutions, of which Minot State is a member, on March 12.

Along with the above cancelations for individual events, the following buildings or offerings have been closed, canceled, or postponed:

  • Campus visits suspended: Campus visits have been suspended until further notice. MSU will continue to monitor the ongoing situation and return to our regular campus visit schedule as soon as possible. Students can sign up for a virtual appointment to get their questions answered and to check com/visit regularly for updates.
  • Minot State Communication Disorders Clinic closed for the semester: The Minot State Communication Disorders Clinic will remain closed for the remainder of the semester. We will be sending an email out regarding your interest in teletherapy in the near future.
  • Testing Center closed: The Academic Testing Center will be closed effective March 23 until further notice. For questions, contact the Minot State Academic Testing Center by EMAIL.
  • Northwest Arts Center, Hartnett Hall Gallery closed: The Northwest Arts Center and the Hartnett Hall Gallery will be closed as part of the overall Minot State campus closures due to the coronavirus. Both galleries will continue to monitor the University's updates and will reopen as per the rest of campus.
  • Gordon B. Olson Library closed: In order to protect the health of our patrons and staff, the library will be closing at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20 until April 6. The library will continue to provide remote reference assistance and digital interlibrary loan.  For details, please see the library HOME PAGE.
  • VITA temporarily delayed: The Minot State University College of Business has temporarily delayed the tax preparation service VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program. Services are planned to resume, but no date has been set. The phone number for the program is 701-858-3122, but will not be checked on a regular basis during the delay.
  • Dome, Air-Supported Dome closed: Due to the executive order from the governor, the Minot State Dome and the Air-Supported Dome are closed effective immediately. More information on the duration will be releases when available. 
  • Souris Basin Transportation Shopping Shuttle discontinued: Because of COVID-19, the Souris Basin Transportation Shopping Shuttle will be discontinued after Saturday, March 21. However, individual rides can still be scheduled using the process outlined HERE.
  • ETS Testing COVID-19 update: Due to the health and safety concerns for both test takers and test center staff stemming form the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, TOEFL, GRE, HiSET, Praxis, GACE, and EXADEP testing has been affected in multiple countries.   • Counseling services available by Zoom or phone: Due to the coronavirus and efforts to limit direct contact with people, Minot State counseling services will be providing counseling sessions by Zoom or phone. Let’s Talk drop in counseling services are cancelled until further notice. Students that need counseling services can call 701-858-3371 or email NANCY MICKELSON or TROY RONESS.
