Minot State University invites you to join other incoming students in experiencing campus at Beaver Bound Day!

During this event, you will discover what life is like as a Minot State student through

  • Sample FYE classes
  • Interactive presentations
  • Q&As with current students
  • Fun photo opportunities
  • A meet & greet celebration

All accepted students attending this event will receive special gifts and the opportunity to pre-select their preferred First Year Experience Learning Communities for Fall 2021!

If you register and attend, you could win a $500 tuition waiver to Minot State!

Measures being taken to keep everyone safe and healthy during Beaver Bound Day:

  • Registration is required.
    • One guest will be allowed per student.
  • Attendees will be divided into smaller groups during the event.
    • Tour groups will be comprised of approximately 10 people or less.
  • Masks are required at all times and will be provided to anyone who does not bring their own.
  • Seating will allow physical distancing between attendees, staff, and students in all event locations.

Sample FYE Class - "Differences" with Dr. Jean-François Mondon

  • No two culture are alike. No two people are alike. This class delves into the origin of what separates people and how seemingly innocuous differences come to acquire such importance in a person's psyche.

Sample FYE Class - "Be empowered" with Mr. James Sturm

  • For many the habits, communication, and leadership skills developed in college will set the tone for life after college. This class will focus on figuring out how to set these positive life practices. 

Sample FYE Class - "So you want to be a techie?" with Mr. Darren Seifert

  • In this sample class, you will explore what it means and takes to be a cyber (computer) professional in the 21st Century. You will also learn about careers and other skills needed to be a successful techie in today's world.

Session - "Residence Life and Housing" with Mrs. Karina Stander

  • There are many perks to living on campus! In this session you will learn about the amenities available to residents of our four unique residence halls.

Session - "Academic Support Center and Library" with Mrs. Beth Odahlen

  • The Academic Support Center (ASC) is a one-stop location for student tutoring and academic assistance programs. In this session, you will check out the support services offered and learn how to utilize the ASC.
