Alison McAfee is an Instructor of Professional Communication at Minot State University. She teaches classes in Persuasion & Argumentation, PR & Media Writing, and Mass Media & Society. Prior to joining MSU, McAfee spent more than 20 years in the private sector as an award-winning public relations strategist, with expertise in corporate communications; government and media relations; issues and crisis management; employee communications; and event planning.

Most recently, Alison served as a senior communications lead for The Boeing Company in Washington, D.C. From 2006 to 2019, she held various PR management positions in the aviation industry, serving as a primary spokesperson for organizations including JetBlue Airways, Hawaiian Airlines and Airlines for America. Before her time in the industry, McAfee was a publicist for NBC Sports and spent three years at Edelman Southwest, collaborating with clients including Whole Foods Market and Texas Tourism.

Alison is currently president of McAfee PR & Strategic Communications, which provides communications consulting services to national consumer and travel companies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently pursuing her master’s in strategic communication and innovation from Texas Tech University.
