Gary Walhaug
Asst. Coach - 10th Year
Gary Walhaug enters his
tenth year assisting head coach Sheila Green. Gary was part of the
National Tournament coaching staff that led the Lady Beavers to
the Elite 8. Gary is our head master on the offensive end of things.
He is very knowledgable in seeing how the offense will develope
to get the points on the board. However, Coach Walhaug has been
a part of MSU men's and women's basketball for the past ten seasons.
Gary has outstanding knowledge of the game and is great teacher.
Gary is usually assigned to work with the perimeter players, scout
team, and help with game strategies and recruiting. Green says Gary
is the "Brain" of the Beaver offense, as he is an excellent strategist
and offensive expert.
Gary is the Athletic
Director and is currently teaching business classes at Surry High
School. Gary was head boys basketball coach for 16 years and head
girls basketball coach for 17 years at Surrey. He is one of only
five coaches in North Dakota to reach the 300 victory milestone
