MSU Announces Head Volleyball Coach
Johnna Lewis has been named the new head volleyball and assistant
track and field coach at Minot State University. Lewis is currently
the Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Williston State College. Lewis
led her 2006 team to a Junior College National Tournament Appearance
and a Region XIII Championship. She was also named the District
O Coach of the Year. In 2005, Lewis led her team to a Region XIII
and MonDak Conference Championship. She was named the MonDak Coach
of the year in 2005 as well. Over the past two years, Lewis has
led her WSC team to 46 wins and just 27 losses.
Prior to Williston State, Lewis was the Head Volleyball Coach at
Bottineau High School. Lewis led the Stars to a second place finish
in Region 6 in 2003 and 2004. She also led Bottineau to a seventh
place finish at State in February of 2002 and a third place finish
at State in November of 2002. This was during the time Volleyball
switched from a winter sport to a fall sport in North Dakota High
schools. Lewis accumulated an outstanding high school record of
109 wins, 31 losses, and 2 ties.
Lewis is a graduate of Minot High School where she was an outstanding
volleyball player. She also played for Minot State University-Bottineau
in 1999 and 2000. Lewis has a Bachelors Degree from Minot State
University and is currently working toward her masters at MSU.
"We are excited to have Johnna joining our volleyball and track
and field programs. She has demonstrated that she is a very competent
coach and recruiter at the college level. I'm looking forward to
working with her," stated MSU Athletic Director Rick Hedberg.

Graduate Assistant - Katie Aide
Katie Aide is
from Bottineau , ND and is an alumni of Williston State College
and has gained a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology from Minot
State University. Katie has an excellent athletic background and
has contributed as a leader in a variety of sports. During her time
at Bottineau High School she helped lead her team to two back to
back State Tournament appearances. While with Williston State College,
the team became Conference and Regional Champions in 2004 and as
a setter for MSU she led the 2005 Beaver team in assists. She will
be working towards her Master's degree in Speech Pathology at Minot
State Univeristy.

Assistant Coach- Alissa Hoehn
Alissa Hoehn is from Drake, Saskatchewan and is a former
Williston State Teton Volleyball player. She helped lead the Tetons
to a Conference and Regional Championship in 2005 and a National
Tournament appearance in 2006. Johnna Lewis said, "Alissa will
be a wonderful addition to 2007 MSU coaching staff, she has great
potential in the coaching arena. Her knowlegde of the game and her
work ethic will be very vaulable to our program."
