DAY 1 of DAC Combined Events Championships At the end of the first day of the Dakota Athletic Conference Combined Events Championships, being held in Dickinson, North Dakota, Ulysses Dalton II, Eric Sheppard and LaShay Bagsby are representing the Beavers well. Competing against cold (approximately 44 degrees) and blustery (continual winds with gusts up to 25-30mph) conditions the Beavers were placed in second and sixth in the decathlon and third in the heptathlon. Bagsby finished 5th in the 100-meter hurdles with an 18.37, 2nd in the high jump with a 5-2.5" jump, 1st in the shot put at 32-2", and 4th in the 200-meter 28.83 to be ranked third overall in the standings. On Monday, she begins the day the with long jump, then the javelin and will finish with the 800-meter run. The women are scheduled to begin at 12noon (mountain time). On the men's side, Dalton II was 2nd in the 100-meter in 11.30, 1st in the long jump with a leap of 20-11.25", 1st in the shot put with a 34-5.5" put, 3rd in the high jump at 5-8" and finished off the day in the 400-meter in 3rd place with a 53.96. Sheppard was 5th in the 100m at 11.74, 3rd in the long jump at 20-9.75", 6th in the shot put at 30-7.5", 7th in the high jump with a leap of 5-3.25" and finished the 400m in 56.78 for 6th place. The men will begin day 2 of the decathlon at 11:00a.m. (mountain)
with the 110-meter hurdles then discus, pole vault, javelin and
