Dr. Anhorn coordinates the Teacher Education area of the Teacher Education and Human Performance department. She has been at MSU for 18 years since 1993, teaching in both Teacher Education and Special Education. Her interests include classroom management and motivation strategies, successful first year teaching, inclusion, qualitative research, and effective instruction.

Dr. Anhorn is involved in professional education organizations such as Phi Delta Kappa, Association for Teacher Educators, Association of Colleges of Teacher Education, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Council for Exceptional Children.

Prior to teaching at MSU, Dr. Anhorn was a Learning Disabilities Specialist in ND, Arizona and in Guam. She has also taught children with mental retardation and preschool children with special needs. Dr. Anhorn’s students say that she is approachable and flexible, as well as a good role model for effective teaching strategies.

Becki’s areas of research interest are first year teachers and attrition, learning styles and teaching, motivation theory/ies, and diversity in the classroom.
