
Staff Perks
Employment at MSU includes
opportunities to enjoy a number of
employee perks. We hope this list
will provide you with an introduction to
some of the many events and facilities that
MSU employees can utilize while employed
here. Enjoy!
Athletics
MSU employees and their immediate
family are admitted to regular season MSU
home sporting events for free by simply
showing their MSU staff ID cards at the
door. Some exclusions will apply including
playoff and tournament events.
Beaver Bucks
The Beaver Bucks is a debit service,
which is linked to the MSU ID card. Beaver
Bucks can be used at all dining locations,
Mini Mizer C-Store, and the MSU Bookstore.
By simply depositing money into your
account, you can make purchases at
various campus locations. A statement of
all transactions can be provided for all
cardholders upon request. Employees and
students who use the Beaver Bucks plan to
pay for purchases at the Snackbar and 2nd
Floor Cafeteria receive a 10% discount on
their purchase. Contact the Student Union
Office located on the 2nd floor of the
Student Union to open a Beaver Bucks
account.
Communication Disorders Clinic
MSU employees and their dependents
may utilize the services of the
Communication Disorders Clinic at no charge.
Services include evaluation and treatment of
speech, fluency, language, voice, swallowing
and hearing. The clinic is located on the first
floor of Memorial Hall, room 109. Contact
the Communication Disorders Clinic at
858-3030 for more information.
Council of State Employees (COSE)
The COSE’s mission is to enhance the
morale and public image of state employees
through the recognition of their personal,
civic and work contributions. At the COSE
web site (http://www.state.nd.us/cose/),
MSU employees can access lists of
discounts available to state employees and
the opportunity to order COSE apparel.
Dome
MSU employees, and the general public
are invited to utilize the Dome’s 1st and 3rd
floor walking/running surface during normal
hours. Class schedules and MSU Athletics
may affect availability. The racquetball courts
are available for free use by MSU employees.
The racquetball courts must be reserved in
advance. Please contact the MSU Athletics
Office for reservations or questions at
858-3041.
Fitness Center
The MSU Fitness Center is located on the
east side of Swain Hall. The Fitness Center
is open when class is in session from
7am-8pm Monday - Friday and Saturday
9am-3pm. Special events may affect
Fitness Center availability. MSU employees
may access the Fitness Center by showing
their MSU staff ID card to the Fitness
Center attendant.
IT Central
The following software is available free
for home installation for all Minot State
University staff: MacAfee Antivirus
Software (current version). Under the
Work at Home Agreements with Microsoft
and SPSS, if the following software is
installed on your campus computer, you
may also install it on your personal home
computer: Microsoft Office (current
version) and SPSS Statistical Package.

Movie Tickets
Discounted movie tickets are available
to MSU employees at the MSU Bookstore
for use at Carmike Cinema at Dakota
Square. The discounted tickets may not be
used for Sony releases during the first 2
weeks that the movie shows. Contact the
Bookstore for more information at
858-3220.
Music
The MSU Division of Music presents
several recitals and concerts throughout
the year which are free to the public.
Staff, faculty and students are admitted to
the Minot Symphony Orchestra concerts
with a current MSU ID. Other events such
as the Western Plains Opera, Chamber
Chorale, and International Artists Series
are not MSU events and are not included in
the free events. Contact the Music Division
(858-3185) or Symphony Orchestra Office
(858-4228) for more information.
Olson Library
MSU employees may obtain a library
card by bringing their MSU ID card to the
library to be activated. MSU staff and
faculty are allowed extended checkout
periods and may access interlibrary loan
services. Contact the Library at 858-3200
with any questions.
Pool
The MSU Pool is located on the first
floor of the Student Union. The pool is
open to employees and their dependents
from 7-8:30pm Monday through Friday
when classes are in session during the fall
and spring semesters. MSU employees and
their dependents will be admitted to the
pool with MSU employee ID.
Student Health & Development Center
The Student Health and Development
Center offers blood pressure checks,
immunizations and the opportunity to
participate in the Healthy Lifestyle Program
to MSU employees. Contact Student Health
at 858-3371 for questions or appointments.
Theater
The MSU Theater Department produces
a number of dramatic productions including
the very popular MSU Summer Theatre
series. MSU employees and dependents
living at home are admitted to these
events for free with employee ID. Black
Box and Campus Player productions are not
included. Contact the Theater Department
at 858-3172 with questions or the Summer
Theatre Reservation number (858-3228) to
reserve summer theater seats.
