MSU Employee Perks

Employment at Minot State University includes opportunities to enjoy a number of employee perks. We hope this list will introduce many events and facilities that MSU employees can utilize while employed here. Enjoy!

Athletics
MSU employees and their immediate family are admitted to regular season MSU home sporting events for free by simply showing their MSU ID cards at the door. Some exclusions will apply including playoff and tournament events.

Beaver Bucks
The Beaver Bucks is a debit service, which is linked to the MSU ID. Beaver Bucks can be used at all dining locations, the convenience store and the MSU Bookstore. By simply depositing money into your account, you can make purchases at various campus locations. A statement of all transactions can be provided for all cardholders upon request to the Student Center director. Employees and students who use the Beaver Bucks plan to pay for purchases at dining locations receive a 10 percent discount on their purchases. Contact the Student Center Office, located on the Student Center's second floor, to open a Beaver Bucks account.

Communication Disorders Clinic
MSU employees and their dependents may utilize the services of the Communication Disorders Clinic at no charge. Services include evaluation and treatment of speech, fluency, language, voice, swallowing and hearing. The clinic is located on the first floor of Memorial Hall, Room 109. Contact the Communication Disorders Clinic at 858-3030 for more information.

Council of State Employees
The Council of State Employees' mission is to enhance the morale and public image of state employees through the recognition of their personal, civic and work contributions. At the COSE website (www.state.nd.us/cose), MSU employees can access lists of discounts available to state employees and order COSE apparel.

Dome
MSU employees and the general public are invited to utilize the Dome's first and third floor walking/running surface during normal hours. Class schedules and MSU Athletics may affect availability. The racquetball courts are available for free use by MSU employees, but the courts must be reserved in advance. Please contact the MSU Athletics Office for reservations or questions at 858-3041.

Student Wellness Center
All full and part-time faculty and staff are eligible to purchase a membership. The faculty and staff membership rate for a full year (12 months) is $450 or $37.50 per month for the fall and spring semesters ($150 for summer). Charter faculty and staff members who sign up in spring 2014 will receive their summer membership for no additional charge. Refunds will be available only in case of injury, illness or separation from MSU employment. Faculty and staff with an NDUS Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance plan are eligible to earn the BS/BS health club credit by documenting 12 visits each month to qualify for a monthly reimbursement of $20. These memberships are nontransferable and for the exclusive use of the employee. Family members are not eligible. Additional information can be found on the Faculty/Staff Membership Enrollment Form available at the Student Wellness Center. See a SWC staff member to initiate or cancel a membership. Membership fees must be paid at the Business Office. The additional revenue derived from these faculty and staff memberships will assist students in retiring bonds, operating the center, funding future improvements and maintaining and replacing equipment.

Information Technology Central
The Minot State University campus now uses Microsoft endpoint protection for antivirus, recommended low cost or free antivirus programs are available for download for personal computers at www.minotstateu.edu, faculty and staff, it central, software downloads. SPSS is available for installation on personal computers, and individuals can make arrangements with the help desk to being in laptop or desktop for installation. Microsoft office 2013 is available for personal computers under the Microsoft home use program. This is a web download, and the cost is approximately $10 to $25, depending upon if individuals order just the download or have the DVD media shipped to them. Contract the help desk at 858444 to request the link to the download website.

Movie Tickets
MSU employees may purchase discounted movie tickets at the MSU Bookstore for use at Carmike Stadium Cinema 9 at Dakota Square. The discounted tickets may not be used for Sony releases during the first 2 weeks that the movie shows. Contact the bookstore for more information at 858-3220.

Music
The MSU Division of Music presents several recitals and concerts throughout the year which are free to the public. Staff, faculty and students are admitted to the Minot Symphony Orchestra concerts with a current MSU ID. Other events such as the Western Plains Opera, Chamber Chorale and International Artists Series are not MSU events and are not included in the free events. Olson Library
MSU employees may obtain a library card by bringing their MSU ID to the library for activation. MSU staff and faculty are allowed extended checkout periods and may access interlibrary loan services. Contact the library at 858-3200 with any questions.

Pool
The MSU pool is located on the first floor of the Student Center. The pool is open to employees and their dependents Monday through Friday, 7-8:30 p.m., when classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters. MSU employees and their dependents will be admitted to the pool with MSU ID.

Student Health Center
The Student Health and Development Center offers blood-pressure checks, immunizations and the opportunity to participate in the Healthy Lifestyle Program to MSU employees. Contact SHC at 858-3371 for questions or appointments.

Theater
The MSU Theater Program produces a number of dramatic productions including the popular MSU Summer Theatre series. MSU employees and dependents are admitted to these events for free with MSU ID. Black Box and Campus Player productions are not included. Contact 858-3172 with questions or the Summer Theatre Reservation number of 858-3228 to reserve summer theater seats.
