Jen Dixon

 

 

Minot State softball coach, Bill Triplett has announced the signing of Jen Dixon from Vincent Massey High School in Brandon, Manitoba.

 

Dixon bats left-handed and throws right. She is a pitcher that can also play shortstop or the outfield.

 

We are very happy that Jen has chosen MSU”, said coach Triplett. She has speed, hits left-handed and can play about anywhere you ask her to, including pitch. We've had our eye on her for three years now so we're ecstatic that she's signed with us”.

Katie Backes

 

Bill Triplett has announced that Katie Backes from Bishop Ryan in Minot has signed a letter of intent . Backes has been a starter for the Lions since 8th grade and has received numerous awards including All-State in 2009. Katie has been Ryan's MVP the last two years. In 2009, the right-hander struck out 143 batters is 139 innings and hit .425 and drove in 32 runs. She had a won/loss record of 12 wins and 7 losses and 3 saves with an earned run average of 2.41.

 

“We're very fortunate that Katie is joining our softball program”, stated Coach Triplett. “She's an honor student, a great person, and is one of the top softball prospects in North Dakota.
