Laurie A. Karie, MSW, LICSW

Laurie has worked at Dickinson State University (DSU) for the past 7 years. Laurie teaches social work and sociology courses at DSU. Laurie has been an adjunct faculty for Minot State University for the past years, acting as a Field Liason for the Dickinson students.

Laurie moved to Dickinson, ND eight years ago after her spouse retired from the army. Laurie's bachelor degree in Sociology is from Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas and her Master's degree is from The University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. Laurie also works as a facilitator for the Restorative Justice Program with Lutheran Social Services. The work involves working with juvenile offenders and female offenders at the Dakota Women's Correctional Center in New England, ND.

Laurie likes to volunteer in the community and has been a mentor with the Best Friends program for the past 8 years. Laurie's hobbies involve walking, reading and watching cooking shows.
