Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges & Universities
Each year, a select group of students is called forward to accept one of the most prestigious awards the academic community can bestow — selection to Who’s Who Among Students. This exclusive honor is conferred by more than 2,842 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and is symbolized by the presentation of an award certificate.
Through our years of serving higher education, Who’s Who Among Students has become one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation, having earned the overwhelming respect of college faculties and administrations. And for the students – the outstanding campus leaders of the year – national recognition by the Who’s Who program marks a pinnacle of scholastic achievement.
Who’s Who Among Students honors students from universities and colleges as well as junior colleges. Each year, Minot State University selects 10-20 students to be recognized as a Who’s Who Among Students award winner. More information can be found at http://www.whoswhoamongstudents.com/
APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 17th, 2014
Minot State University faculty members are invited to nominate outstanding students for this award, though candidates may also self-nominate. The completed Application Form should be submitted to the V.P. for Student Affairs Office, Room 164, Admin. Building, or mailed to MSU Student Affairs, 500 University Ave. W., Minot ND 58707.
Once the nomination forms are collected and scored, the final selection of nominees will be submitted to the Who’s Who organization. The final honorees will be contacted and announced through the Public Information Office.
A luncheon will be held in honor of the recipients in the Spring Semester.
ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION CRITERIA:
To be eligbible for this award, candidates must be enrolled full time at Minot State University for the following fall semester, never a recipient of the award previously, junior or senior status, must have attended MSU for four consecutive terms as a full time student (does not include summer terms) and currently have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
The selection process is carried out by your fellow students, faculty and staff and was based on your successfully meeting the following criteria:
- Academic achievement
- Service to Minot State University
- Service to the community
- Participation & leadership in academic and/or extracurricular activities
- Future potential
