Project Partners
The Rural Crime and Justice Center (RCJC) has partnered with the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH), Council on Abused Women's Service for North Dakota (formerly North Dakota Council on Abused Women's Services), and the Tribal Judicial Institute (TJI) at the University of North Dakota with the purpose of improving the response to crimes of domestic violence and sexual assault in the state of North Dakota.
As part of this initiative, many project activities are being focused in one targeted area in North Dakota - the Northwestern judicial district. This area in the state has been most effected by energy exploration and development, and as such, has experienced a population influx which has impacted many rural communities. Our hope is that through this project we can help provide these agencies with the needed training and tools to guide their response to violence against women and to hold offenders accountable in their communities.
