Minot State to offer Management Concepts Graduate Certificate at BSC

MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University will offer its Management Concepts Graduate Certificate at its Bismarck State College location starting in the Fall 2018 semester.

It marks the first time Minot State has offered a graduate certificate at its BSC location. The priority deadline to apply is July 20 with classes beginning in August. The first two classes offered at BSC will be Tuesday nights from 5 to 9 p.m.

“According to our research there is a demand for shorter and more flexible graduate programs, and the Bismarck area is very promising for future growth for this kind of program,” said Jacek Mrozik, Minot State’s Associate Vice President for Graduate/Online/Distance and Continuing Education. “We are confident that this innovative modular approach to graduate management education will serve the Bismarck community well and that we will be able to offer more certificates in the future.”

The graduate certificate consists of three eight-week classes for a total of nine credits. The first two classes will be administered face-to-face at the Bismarck campus with the third delivered online. All three courses can be applied toward the Master of Science in Management, or two of the courses can be applied toward the Master of Science in Sports Management.

“Minot State University has a decades-long history of partnering with Bismarck State College to offer degree programs in the Bismarck-Mandan community,” Minot State President Steven Shirley said. “As a commitment and extension to that strong partnership, this Management Concepts Graduate Certificate is our first offering of a post-baccalaureate level program at BSC.  We are very excited to offer this new graduate-level business program to students in the Bismarck-Mandan region beginning this fall.”

Minot State University’s new Management Concepts Graduate Certificate is ideal for students who are interested in securing advanced skills in management with an accelerated program of study.

Through active learning, case studies, and projects, students will gain knowledge of principles and practices in managing corporate and organizational resources, marketing functions, and concepts of information systems within the organizational structure.

The certificate can be completed in as little as 24 weeks.

Minimum requirements for the program include:

  • Completion of the MSU Graduate School application at edu/graduate
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.75 OR Undergraduate last-60-hour GPA of 3.00
  • Official transcripts from all universities/college attended
  • Satisfaction of MSU’s English proficiency requirement.
