Western Plains Opera to present 'Carmen'

No man can resist Carmen’s gypsy charms, but be careful, you play with fire! Minot’s Western Plains Opera will present George Bizet’s “Carmen,” one of the world’s most popular operas. It is a riveting drama of love and jealousy, filled with opera’s most famous alluring melodies and captivating dances. There will be two performances: Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. The performance will be sung in English, fully staged with a full pit orchestra. Take advantage of the early-bird special: buy three tickets and get the fourth one free if purchased before Sunday (Aug. 31). Students attending in groups of five or more can also receive a 25 percent discount (no deadline). Otherwise, tickets are $15, $20 and $25. For reservations and information call 858-3185.
