Welcome Week events

University life is about more than attending class and passing exams. It is about getting involved, exploring interests, sharing ideas and just plain having a good time. Welcome Week activities include:

Thursday (Aug. 21)
Noon — Residence Hall Move-in and barbecue (Burgers provided by President’s Office)
6-8 p.m. — Dine-In Movie, Beaver Dam (Movie: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” with Taco in a Bag)

Friday (Aug. 22) — CONNECT Orientation
10 a.m. — Student Wellness Center orientation and classroom tours
2 p.m. — Student Wellness Center orientation and classroom tours
6 p.m. — Dinner and ice cream social with President Steven Shirley, Beaver Dam (Dinner: chicken strips)

Saturday (Aug. 23)
Noon — Pizza Picnic, Old Main lawn (Pizza provided by Residence Life and Housing)
1 p.m. — Frisbee Fling, Old Main lawn
6 p.m. — Dessert Social, Cook Hall (Dessert provided by Lutheran Campus Ministries)

Sunday (Aug. 24)
10:30 a.m. — Sunday Church Service, Beaver Dam (Breakfast buffet provided)
2 p.m. — Picnic and Lawn Game Extravaganza, Old Main lawn
6 p.m. — Crazy Olympics, Student Wellness Center

Monday (Aug. 25)
10 a.m. — Student Wellness Center orientation and classroom tours
2 p.m. — Student Wellness Center orientation and classroom tours
7 p.m. — Grocery Bag Bingo, Beaver Dam

Tuesday (Aug. 26) — Classes begin!
Noon — Free food and live music in the Quad (Lunch: taco in a bag)
9:30 p.m. — Outdoor Movie on Herb Parker Stadium (Movie: “Draft Day” or “Friday Night Lights”)

Wednesday (Aug. 27)
11 a.m.-2 p.m. — MSU Club Fair, Quad (Lunch: burgers/chicken burgers)
7 p.m. — Welcome Back Bonfire, Old Main lawn (Dinner: hotdogs, s’mores)

Thursday (Aug. 28)
Noon — Free food and live music in the Beaver Dam (Lunch: wings and rings)
10 p.m. — Welcome Dance, location to be announced

Friday (Aug. 29)
Noon — Free food and live music in the Quad (Lunch: pizza)
9 p.m.-midnight — Glow in the Dark Mini Golf, Old Main lawn

Saturday (Aug. 30)
2 p.m. — Paint twister, tie dye and water games, Old Main lawn
