Placement exam

Minot State University offers the ACCUPLACER Placement Exam for students wishing to take English or Math placement exams. Students are currently placed in an English and Math course based on the submitted ACT/SAT or ACCUPLACER scores.

Students may wish to take the exam for the following reasons:
  • Student does not have ACT/SAT score
  • ACT/SAT score is low and would place student in a developmental English or Math course
  • Student is selecting a major which requires upper level math courses in first semester
To determine if you will want to take a placement exam prior to or the day of orientation, please see click on the specific exam below and follow the flowchart provided. 

     For the Math Placement take the:

    For the English Placement take the:

  • ACCUPLACER Next Gen Writing

Virtual Test Option:
If you wish to take the placement exams virtually, the Accuplacer will be available virtually on Mondays only.  Please contact the Minot State University Academic Testing Center to schedule your virtual test:
