State and federal laws require colleges and universities to be authorized to offer online degree programs in states other than their own. Below is a list of states where Minot State University (MSU) is authorized to offer online degree programs. Please pay careful attention to the programs available in your state.

Partial Authorization

Minot State University offers only fully online degree programs (those without a field experience) to residents in the states listed below. Our fully online programs include the Bachelor of Science in Management, Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Bachelor of Science in International Business, Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Business Information Technology, Bachelor of General Studies, Master of Science in Management, Master of Science in Information Systems, Master of Science in Special Education with an emphasis in Developmental Disabilities/Autism Spectrum Disorders, Certificate in Application Software Specialist, Certificate in Web Development, Certificate in Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, and Graduate Certificate in Knowledge Management.

A review of the requirements and fees in these states found them to be prohibitive. Therefore, MSU has chosen not to seek authorization to offer field experience activities such as practicums, internships, or clinicals in these states. The online programs that require field experience activities are: the Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Management, Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses, Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services with a major in Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, and Associate of Science Degree in Human Services with a major in Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. If you choose the Certificate of Completion in Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, you cannot take the practicum but must choose your coursework from the other options. Residents of these states should consult the program coordinator before applying to the program to see if alternative arrangements can be made. This decision does not affect residents who are seeking enrollment in other degree/certificate programs or who may be taking an isolated course.
