Northern Plains Writing Project

Young Writers Workshop
Summer 2006

The Northern Plains Writing Project joined forces with the Minot State
University College for Kids program for the first time to launch the Young
Writer’s Workshop. Elementary, middle school and high school students participated in a variety of writing activities. The process of writing was explored, cultivated, and appreciated by students and teachers alike.

What students had to say:

“I liked the fact that the teachers opened our minds to bigger and better things.”

“The only thing I didn’t like was it only lasted four days.

What parents had to say:

“She wouldn’t stop talking about how much fun she had.”

“My daughter enjoyed this class! She wanted it to be longer. I enjoyed listening to her explain all that she did in class.”
