Come join other teachers as we write our
way into and out of the wild! We will walk
through nature, look up at the stars. We
will talk with one another about how we
can help students overcome obstacles and
meet challenges while overcoming and
meeting some of our own out in nature.
Special Speaker Wayne Westerberg
Wayne is the South Dakota man who knew and
employed Chris McCandless. Wayne will share
Chris's journals and was a consultant on the making
of the movie. We will compare our challenges to
Chris's and learn from his mistakes
We offer you the opportunity to get away,
reflect, improve writing skills, and network
with colleagues from around the state about
ways to incorporate the theme of nature and
overcoming obstacles in our classrooms.
Bring your pencils, walking shoes and sense of adventure!!
We’ll supply the food, lodging, warm fire, and everything else.
