Minot State hosts eighth annual golf tour in Bottineau
Minot State University invites alumni and friends in the Bottineau area to play golf at the Bottineau Country Club on July 2. This event will be a four-person, nine-hole scramble. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m., with a shotgun start at 5 p.m. A social to recognize area students receiving 2013-2014 scholarships will immediately follow golf's completion. Non-golfers are welcome to play.
"Every year, we create some great relationships with alumni and friends of Minot State in the communities where we golf," said Janna McKechnie, director of alumni relations and annual giving. "Each community is so hospitable, and we look forward to another great golf tour!"
Golfers are responsible for their own green fees and cart rentals. Meals and refreshments will be provided by the course, and purchase is optional.
Transportation from Minot State to each course will be available at no charge. Reservations for transportation and meals are requested one week before the date of each outing. It is recommended that golfers interested in carts make early reservations because of limited availability.
This visit in Bottineau is part of MSU's eighth annual "Friend-raising Golf Tour." The summer tour, which has the motto of "Golf One or Golf Them All," started in Velva June 4 and ends in Kenmare Aug. 1.
New this year, a drawing for two $1,000 scholarships will be conducted Aug. 1 at Kenmare. Prizes and T-shirts will be awarded at each event. The Friend-raising Golf Tour is sponsored by MSU Alumni Association, Advancement Office, Athletic Department and the Marketing Office.
