Come to the Penny Carnival fundraiser
Feb. 28, Minot State University students, faculty and staff and community members can enjoy a Penny Carnival in the Dome from 6 to 8 p.m. Festivities will include booths, bounce houses, face painting, ring toss and cake walks.
Annually, residence halls staff fundraise for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through the "Pennies for Patients" competition. LLS, the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer, funds global lifesaving blood cancer research and provides free information and support services to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Chapters exist throughout the U.S. and Canada.
"Last year, MSU raised $2,521.91, but this year, we hope to double that! So, campus departments are filling buckets and jars because the competition runs through March 8," said Camila Van Dyke, residence life coordinator. "Through participating in Pennies for Patients, our school joins 25,000 schools in combating blood cancer, both today by serving patients and for the future by funding research."
