Minot State/Xcel Energy partner for 'Green Out'
"Minot State University Athletics and Xcel Energy have partnered together for the third-annual "Green Out" during a home basketball double header to promote sustainability.
This year's event is Friday, Feb. 1 as the MSU men's and women's basketball teams play host to Concordia University, St. Paul. Game times are 6 and 8 p.m. at the Minot State Dome.
The Green-Out is also sponsored by the Minot State Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), MSU Sustainability Committee, M & S Concessions and the Minot State Residence Life/Halls. Minot State Athletics encourages everyone in attendance to both wear their Minot State green and help promote the ideas behind sustainability by recycling their plastic soda bottles and the official MISU men's and women's basketball Gameday programs at recycling bins located in the Dome.
The games on Friday with serve as the finale to Minot State residence halls' recycling competition. Xcel Energy will have a display table to hand out items and information on sustainability and Minot State Athletics will have various halftime and timeout promotions promoting the initiative.
