MSU's Campus Players' "Best Christmas Pageant Ever"

Minot State University's Campus Players presents "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. in the Aleshire Theater.

In this story, the Herdmans are the worst kids in history. They lie, cheat, steal, cuss, even burn down buildings; their hijacking of the community's annual Christmas pageant turns the entire town upside down in this raucous, spirited and ultimately heart-warming story about finding the true spirit of Christmas.

This will be Grant Johnson's first main stage production as director. Brittany Armstrong is the stage manager.

"Despite the inherent challenges of working with such a large cast, I am very excited about this production," Johnson said. "In particular, I am thrilled that we will be touring the show on Thursday, Dec. 6, to a few of the local elementary schools, who, due to budgetary constraints, would otherwise miss out on this opportunity."

The excitement to tour is shared by the entire cast and crew, who view it as a new tradition for Campus Players and a great way to develop interest in MSU and theater. The touring tradition began last year when Minot Public Schools suspended field trips for the school year because of the flood.

"Best Christmas Pageant Ever" is written by Barbara Robinson and produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. Ticket prices are $6 for adults, $5 for students, children and seniors. MSU IDs will not be accepted for admission, as this is production is a fundraiser for Campus Players. For event information and ticket reservations, please contact 858-3172.
