Wellness Fair to promote healthy lifestyles Nov. 1
Minot State University’s Wellness Committee will host a Wellness Fair Nov. 1 in the Student Center Atrium from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. In its sixth year, the event supports wellness through education, prevention and promotion of self-responsibility.
Approximately 25 vendors will provide information on topics such as nutritiona and healthy eating, mental health, the benefits of exercise and maintaining wellness. Senior nursing students will give flu shots to anyone with a current MSU ID. The cost is $10 for students and $20 for faculty and staff. Trinity Health will provide cholesterol checks for $15. Fasting is not required.
"The purpose of the Wellness Fair is to educate students, faculty and staff about the different ways and resources available for staying healthy and well," said Caren Barnett, Student Health Center director. "Every year the Fair attracts new and different vendors."
Other health care representatives will include fitness facilities, the ND State Department of Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of ND, a massage therapist, counseling services and the First District Health Unit.
The fair is free and open to all students, faculty and staff. For questions, contact Caren Barnett, Student Health Center director, at 858-3371.
