The 13th annual KMSU Auction, "Beavers Rebuild Fundraiser," is set to broadcast live on Channel 19 Tuesday (Dec. 6) at 6:30 p.m., with a preshow event starting at 5 p.m. All funds raised will go to aid Ward County flood victims, who submitted videos of their stories. The submissions were put through a rubric, and funds will be distributed based on need. The recipients of the Beavers Rebuild Fundraiser will be announced on the night of the auction.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to help the community at a difficult time. To have such a big impact, coming from Minot State University, is important to us as a class," said Janna McKechnie, KMSU Auction coordinator.
Minot Chrysler Center, the corporate sponsor of the Beavers Rebuild Fundraiser, is matching donations up to $10,000.
The communications class has gathered over $42,000 in donations to be auctioned. This event is a QVC-style auction compiled of 89 packages from area businesses.
The auction will also be broadcast Tuesday in the Beaver Dam on the MSU campus.
