Wellness Fair to promote healthy lifestyles Nov. 3
Minot State University’s Wellness Committee will host a Wellness Fair Nov. 3 in the Student Center Atrium from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is based on the MSU philosophy of wellness:
"Wellness is a way of life that emphasizes the whole person through a positive approach to healthy living and is more than the absence of disease. It involves education, prevention and promotion of self-responsibility."
Vendors will be there to provide information on topics such as healthy eating, the benefits of exercise and integration of wellness into one’s lifestyle. Senior nursing students will give flu shots to anyone with a current MSU ID. The cost is $10 for students and $20 for faculty and staff. Trinity Health will do cholesterol checks for $15.
Other health care representatives will include a chiropractor, a massage therapist and the North Dakota Department of Health
The fair is free and open to all students, faculty and staff. For questions, contact Caren Barnett, Student Health Center director, at 858-3371.
