MSU’S student government names first senator of the month
Minot State University’s Student Government Association named Bethany Tedford as this academic year’s first Senator of the Month at its Oct. 12 meeting. Tedford, who is a freshman from Great Falls, Mont., came to MSU to study communication disorders. In addition to SGA, she is also involved with other student groups such as the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association.
"Student Government Association has given me a great opportunity," said Tedford. "SGA lets me get involved and meet lots of awesome people."
SGA is the governing body for Minot State students and functions as the chief law and policymaking organization for the student body. It consists of nine executive officers, 20 senators from each college of study, intramurals and the Student Activities Committee. Monthly, SGA recognizes senators who exhibit exemplary qualities, including a great attitude, a willingness to help when asked, involvement in committee meetings and going above and beyond what is asked of them.
SGA will honor Tedford at their next meeting on Nov. 9. For questions, contact Kevin Mehrer, SGA director of public relations, at 858-3090 or kevin.mehrer@my.minotstateu.edu.
