MSU graduate’s company named ‘Most Dependable’

Minot State University graduate John P. Schwan’s company, Schwan Financial Group LLC, of Aberdeen, S.D., has been awarded "Most Dependable Wealth Managers of the Central U.S." by Goldline Research. The 2008 award list was published in "Forbes Magazine" on May 19.

"We are extremely appreciative and grateful for all our clients. This recognition acknowledges all the concern, commitment and hard work of the team at our company," said Schwan, chief executive officer and founder. "It will also encourage and motivate our firm to continually challenge ourselves to find the most effective ways to serve our clients wants and needs. We must continue to execute and transform relationships from creating value to being valuable."

Schwan Financial Group truly distinguished itself during our evaluation of the industry, according to Allen Scott, research director, Goldline Research. The firm evaluated 2,200 firms during the process and narrowed the picks to ten for each region.

SFG was able to differentiate itself with an average advisor to client ratio of 1:77, median assets under management of $1.32 billion and more than 32 years of experience. Scott said that Schwan also stood apart from the other candidates because of the strength of their client references.

Goldline Research is a third-party, independent research firm specializing in evaluating professional services firms. Its extensive, in-depth research process reviews all qualified companies in a respective area and includes company interviews and quantitative analysis of key data as well as customer reference checks.

Schwan graduated from MSU in 1982. He and his wife, Laurie, have been married for 27 years and have four children.
