MSU students will present findings on leukemia research at national conference Minot State University biology students Aileen Aldrich, a junior, and Alysa Anderson, a senior, will present their research on leukemia during the American Association for Cancer Research annual meeting April 12-16 in San Diego. Aldrich and Anderson, along with MSU biology professor Heidi Super, will present a lecture titled "Analysis of protein binding in the Myeloid Lymphoid Leukemia gene translocation breakpoint cluster region" at the conference. "It’s the best part of my undergrad career," Aldrich said, adding that the MSU science department puts a great emphasis on involving undergraduate students in research. Aldrich has also received the Thomas J. Bardos Science Education Award for Undergraduate Students, an award given to college juniors. Intended to inspire young science students to enter to the field of cancer research, the award will pay for Aldrich to attend the AACR’s annual meeting for the next two years. | |||||||||||||
