D. Experiences Working with Diverse Students in P-12 Schools
Candidates in the MEd, MME, and MAT programs are practicing teachers who have experience working with students in P-12 schools. Some candidates in the MS programs in Special Education and Communication Disorders also are practicing teachers in P-12 schools. Student diversity varied by school, with some candidates teaching in schools with extremely diverse student populations and others teaching in schools with limited diversity. Schools with limited diversity included schools that had very high percentages of White/Non Hispanic students and others that had very high percentages of Native American students.
