High School and University Undergraduate Solo Competition

In addition to all of the wonderful events being presented during this conference, there will also be two solo competitions offered: a high school solo competition as well as a university undergraduate solo competition. These competitions will be adjudicated by guest artists for the conference. The competitions are open to any high school or university undergraduate saxophonist in Region 3 of NASA (i.e., a student who lives in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, or Nebraska) who is registered with NASA. If you are not a member of NASA, please register by clicking on the N.A.S.A. Membership link at the top left hand portion of this page and follow the instructions. It is a $10 for a high school saxophonists and $25 for university-level saxophone students to register with NASA.

The competitions will take place on Friday, April 19th at Minot State University in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.

There is a fee of $30 to enter the competition. If you cannot bring a pianist to play for you during the competition, then we can provide one for you. There is a $50 fee to utilize our professional staff pianist for the conference - Mrs. Hannah Creviston. If you need to use our staff pianist for this competition, you will be put in touch with Mrs. Creviston after your completed form has been submitted to discuss rehearsal times. Payment will be made directly to her in cash or check at your first meeting.

Completed Registration Form and Competition Fee(s) Due on April 22 , 2013!

Steps you need to take to participate in this competition:

  1. Register with NASA ($10 or $25 depending on your student status)
  2. Complete your registration form and submit it along with your fee of $30 (made payable to NASA) to the following address prior to the deadline:

Finally, there will be prizes provided to the winners of each competition as well as a "Competition Winner's Recital" on Sunday, April 21st to showcase the high school and university solo competition winners.
