Student Profiles

Erik Anderson: Minot, North Dakota BA in Music, saxophone, senior

I came to Minot State to study music knowing that I'd be working with a world-class faculty. There is a depth of knowledge, talent, and experience among them. Most remarkable is the shared passion for teaching and performing. Whether you're here for a performance or education degree, you will get exactly the guidance you need.

There are several settings to work one-on-one with professors, a valuable resource that's not as common at larger institutions. At Minot State, the music student group is welcoming and supportive. You get to know everyone personally. There are many performance opportunities, ranging from solo performance to large ensemble. There are also many opportunities to collaborate with the community. Ensembles include concert choir, concert band, string, woodwind and brass ensembles, jazz band, MSU Singers and the Minot Symphony Orchestra, a student and community group. Whatever you're coming to study, here you will have a chance to grow and develop your talents. I'm glad I came to Minot State and would recommend it to anyone!
