Dr. Dianna Anderson is Instructor of Piano and Coordinator of Functional Piano at Minot State University. Originally from Ekalaka, Montana, she began study of the piano at the age of four with her mother. Her degrees are from the University of Idaho and the University of Cincinnati-College-Conservatory of Music, completing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano at CCM in 2004. Her teachers include Janeen Larsen, Jay Mauchley, and Frank Weinstock.

Dr. Anderson is a founding member of the piano trio Luminus, an ensemble that has presented numerous recitals throughout the Dakotas and is the resident artist ensemble at Dakota Chamber Music, a summer chamber music institute for strings and piano held at Minot State. Her chamber music repertoire is large and varied, encompassing many standard works for strings and piano, as well as an increasing number of new works. Anderson is a sought-after accompanist and in addition to frequent performances with local musicians, has performed with such artists as Karin Paludan, Patrick Sheridan, and Linda Wang. As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras in Idaho, Washington, Montana, and North Dakota and regularly presents solo programs in Minot, ND. In Spring 2009, Dr. Anderson will perform the first of a series of recitals presenting the complete Beethoven Piano Sonatas.

Dr. Anderson has taught piano at the University of Idaho and University of Cincinnati. In addition to her duties at Minot State, she maintains a studio of private students ranging from pre-school to senior citizens. She is on the faculty of International Music Camp, Dakota Chamber Music, is the rehearsal accompanist for Western Plains Opera Company, and is in frequent demand as an adjudicator and clinician.
