Smart Vote Campaign! (DATE CHANGE)

Lunch with the legislators (current and prospective)
Student Government Association is hosting a lunch with the legislators to increase student awareness of political issues and encourage everyone to get out and vote on November 4, 2008.  There will be free food for students as well as a presentation by some of our current and prospective state legislators.  Attendance will count as a mentor program activity as long as you sign in at the information table and stay for the presentations.

Happy Hour is a time of fun with friends, but what happens when it goes too far? Join us to learn the dangers of alcohol poisoning and what to do if your friends are in danger. (Workshops will be held in the lobby/commons areas of the residence halls).

This workshop will provide you with some practical tips for money management, including how to budget and in turn help you stretch your financial aid/student loan money.  It will also show you why it is important to be very cautious when getting into the world of credit cards and how to understand the information on a credit report and the reasons for credit reporting.

Self Defense

This workshop will be hosted by Magic City Martial Arts and Self Defense Systems and will include a PowerPoint presentation on street smart self defense followed by a demonstration of basic self defense moves and practice of these moves.
