Jessie Ford   Jessie Ford - 6'7 Senior Forward

High School:  As a senior in high school, Ford led Washington High School to a 4th place finish in its first ever state tournament appearance...Averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds per game during senior season...Earned First Team All-Conference honors.

Pre-MSU:  Played two years of junior college basketball at Independence Community College in ndependence, KS...The Pirates were 30-4 and finished the season ranked 10th in the NJCAA poll...Averaged 2.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.

MSU:  Started 26 games last season...Averaged 5 points and 4.4 rebounds pergame... Had double-doubles against Presentation and Jamestown...Scored season high 14 points at Presentation.

Personal:  Son of Jessie and Vickie Ford...From Kansas City, KS...Business Management Major.

Joe Gathings   Joe Gathings - 6'1 Senior Guard

High School: Transferred to Westinghouse High from Marshall High school for his senior season...Had to sit-out first semester dur to transfer rules...Started the second half of the season...Averaged 14 points and 4 assists per game.

Pre-MSU:  Finished junior college career at Harper College in Palatine, IL...Named Region 4 Player of the Year...Honored as Second-Team NJCAA III All-American...Averaged 18 points per ame...Shot 56 percent from the field including 41 percent form the three-point arc...Team lost at the buzzer in Region Championship...Played Freshman season at Kennedy King College in Chicago, IL.

MSU:  Joined team after Chistmas last season...Played in 17 games...Led team in scoring at 12.2 points per game as a reserve...Averaged 4 rebounds per game...Shot 35 percent from three-point-stripe...Had season high of 25 points and 10 rebounds against Dakota State.

Personal:  Son of Joe and Denise Gathings...From Chicago, IL...Criminal Justice Major with a minor in Graphic Design.

Ricky Martinez   Ricky Martinez - 5'8 Senior Guard

High School: Three-year starter at Carlsbad High School...Averaged 15 points points per game as a senior...Second-team All-League during senior season...Team won region championship during sophomore season.

Pre-MSU:  Played two seasons at Miracosta Community College in Oceanside, CA...Averaged 16 points, shot 38 percent from the three-point arc and 79 percent from the free throw line during sophomore season...Earned First-Team All-Conference as a sophomore...Second-team All-onference as a freshman...Twice selected to all-tournament teams and was once named Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Week last season.

MSU:  Started 20 games last season...Averaged 9 points and 3.5 assists per game...Shot 36.5 percent from the three-point arc...Had season high of 19 points versus Manitoba.

Personal:  Son of Sherman and Rachel Anderson...From Oceanside, CA...Double Majoring in Management and International Business.

 

Matt Witwer   Matt Witwer - 6'5 Senior Forward

High School:  Four-year starter at Minot High School...Leading scorer in school's history...Scored 1356 points in his career...All-WDA three times...Two-time First-Team All-State selection...Averaged 21 points per game his senior season...Finalist for North Dakota’s Mr. Basketball.

Pre-MSU:  Attended Colorado School of Mines, a NCAA Division II school for three years...Averaged 3 points per game as a freshman...Red-shirted during his second year...Spent most of third year recovering from an ACL injury.

MSU:  Averaged 8 points per game last season...Shot over 50 percent from the field and 89 percent from the free throw line...Missed 7 games due to injury...Had season high of 15 against Valley City...Recorded a double-double at Presentation.

Personal:  Son Keith and Stephanie Witwer...From Minot, ND...Finance and Mathematics Major.

 

Milan Cvetkovic   Milan Cvetkovic - 6'8 Junior Center

High School:   Attended Electro Technical High School in Zemun...Graduated in 2002...Played junior and club basketball for Zemun...Won divisional championship all four years of junior ball.

MSU: ...Averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds per game last season...Shot 58 percent from the field...Scored 18 points against Montana State-Northern...Red-shirted during 2005-06 season.

Personal: Son of Mihailo and Desanka Cvetkovic ...From Belgrade, Serbia...Double Majoring in Marketing and International Business Major.

 

C.J. DeWitty   C.J. DeWitty - 6'0 Junior Guard

High School:  Attended Del Valle High School (TX)...Three-year starter...Co-District champions during senior season...Honorable Mention as a sophomore...1st team all-district during junior season...MVP of district and second-team all-region as a senior...Averaged 17 points as a senior.

Pre-MSU:   Played two seasons at Temple College in Temple, TX...Helped team to conference championship as a sophomore...Averaged 10 points per game...Shot 42 percent from three-point territory...Earned Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition.

Personal: Son of Cardell DeWitty Sr. and Mary Briseno...From Austin, TX...Physical Education major.

 

Aaron Patterson   Aaron Patterson - 6'3 Junior Guard

High School:  Played only one year of basketball at San Lorenzo High (CA)...Was second in scoring in Northern California...Conference Co-Player of the Year.

Pre-MSU:   Played two seasons at Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA...Led school to its first ever conference championship...MVP of the Coast Conference South...First-Team All-State...Averaged 19 points, 6 rebounds per game...Shot 35 percent from three...Honorable Mention All-Conference as a freshman.

Personal: Son of Monique and Nathan Patterson...From Freemont, CA...Physical Education major...Has four sisters and two brothers.


Stan Schauer   Stan Schauer - 6'1 Junior Guard

High School:  Attended Fessenden-Bowden High School...Twice earned All-Conference and All-District honors... Averaged 17 points as a senior...Team appeared in Region Championship...Two-Time All-Region selection in football...Played in Region Championship game during senior seaspn...Placed in 4 events at 2004 North Dakota State Track Meet...Qualified for the state meet in long jump for 3 consecutive years.

MSU:  Appeared in 8 games last season...Scored 8 points against Dakota State...Orginally came to MSU in 2004-05 to play football.

Personal: Son of Stan and June Schauer...From Fessenden, ND...Elementary Education Major.

 

Andy Leraas   Andy Leraas - 6'5 Sophomore Forward

High School:  Four-year letterman at Hillsboro High School...Hillsboro's all-time leading rebounder and second leading scorer...Averaged 20 points and 14 rebounds during senior season...Two-Time North Dakota Class 'B' All-State selection...Three-time All-Conference and All-District selection...North Dakota Mr. Basketball finalist as a senior...All-Region baseball player as a  senior.

MSU:  Appeared in 26 games last season...Averaged 5.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game...Scored season high of 18 against Jamestown...Red-Shirted his first year...Pitches for the MSU Baseball program...Won one game a saved another for the MSU baseball team.

Personal: Son of Gary and Phyllis Leraas...From Hillsboro, ND...Communications Major with an emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising.

 

Braden Bosch   Braden Bosch - 6'0 Freshman Guard

High School:  Four-year letterwinner and three year starter at Bishop Ryan High School in Minot, ND...Averaged 10 points and 5 assists per game last season....Named All-Region as a senior...Two-time All-District 12 selection...Helped the Lions to the North Dakota State ‘B’ Tournament in both 2004 and 2006...Honorable Mention State Tournament team...Scored over 800 points and dished out 280 assists in his career...Was also a three year starter in faseball, a three year letterwinner in football and was the team’s MVP the one year he played tennis.

MSU:  Red-Shirted last season.

Bojan Janjic   Bojan Janjic - 6'5 Freshman Guard

High School:  Two-year starter at Minot Ryan High School...Averaged 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game his senior season...Shot 40 percent from the three-point arc, making a total of 74...All-District 12...Helped lead the Lions to the 2006 North Dakota State ‘B’ Tournament and Region 6 title.

MSU:  Red-Shirted last season.

Personal: Son of Miroljub and Milena Janjic...From Kikinda Serbia...Stayed with Terry and Shawneen Voiles while attending Minot Ryan High School...Management Information Systems Major.

 

Mitch Mayer   Mitch Mayer - 6'8 Freshman Center

High School:  Four-year letterwinner and a three year starter at Bishop Ryan High School in Minot, ND...Averaged 14.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game during senior season...Shot 54 percent from the field...Blocked 3 shots per game...Twice named All-District 12...All-Region as a senior...Helped lead the Lions to the North Dakota State ‘B’ Tournament in both 2004 and 2006.

MSU:  Red-shirted last season.

Rob Getzlaff   Rob Getzlaff - 6'7 Freshman Center

High School:  Three-year starter at DeLacs-Burlington High School...Averaged 18  points per game during senior season...Shot 57 percent from the field....Grabbed 10 rebounds and had 2 blocks per game...Named All-District 12 and All-Region 6...Participated in the Lions All-Star game.

Personal: Son of Terry and Lesli Getzlaff...From Burlington, ND...Corporate Fitness major.

 

Matt Mueller   Matt Mueller - 5'11 Freshman Guard

High School:  Three-year letterwinner at Bishop Ryan High School in Minot...Helped team to back-to-back region championships and North Dakota Class 'B' State tournament appearances...Averaged 12 points per game...Shot 36.5 percent from three-point arc and 80 percent from the free throw line...Two-year All-Region baseball player...Helped Lions to 2007 North Dakota Class 'B' Champioship.

Personal: Son of Fred and Mary Mueller...From Minot, ND...Pre-Chiropractic with a mojor in Biology.

 

Jordan Pederson   Jordan Pederson - 6'0 Freshman Guard

High School: Graduated from Our Redeemers High School here in Minot....Four year starter...Averaged 11 points and 7assists during senior season...Named All-District...Holds school records for assists (110) and steals (73) in a season...All-Region Quarterback during senior season...Played in 2007 North Dakota Shrine Bowl.
