Residence Hall Director
The Residence Life Office hires five Hall Directors every year, one per residence hall. RHDs are responsible for the supervision of the building’s Resident Assistants, encouraging and attending programs, organizing at least one all hall program per month, providing referrals/advice, communicating with the Residence Life Office staff, attending Hall Director meetings, conducting RA evaluations, supporting and upholding university & residence hall policies.
These positions are extremely multifaceted and rewarding. No two days are ever the same!
Resident Assistant
In total there are 17 RAs hired every year, which is one RA per floor in every residence hall on campus.
RAs are responsible for building a sense of community on their floor, providing a variety of programming, being a resource person for residents, enforcing university and residence hall policies, being a member of Inter-Residence Hall Council, covering desk shifts, as well as working as a team with other Residence Life staff.
These positions are demanding of your time and talent, but can be very gratifying as well as being an excellent resume builder.
Desk Clerk
Desk clerk responsibilities include covering available desk shifts in which you answer phone calls, assist in enforcing university and campus policy, and work on various administrative tasks provided by the hall staff.
Applications for desk clerk positions are usually taken at the beginning of the academic year.
