KMSU Television Channel 19 Over twelve years ago extensive planning and preparation came together when Minot State University's Broadcasting Department took over Minot's Cable Access Channel. KMSU-TV currently airs 20 hours of programming each week, including MSU Inside Out. Various other programming includes community local organization programs as well as a North Dakota Historical Series. When KMSU isn't airing programs, public service announcements run on a continuously updated scroll while KMSU Channel 19 Radio plays around the clock in the background. KMSU Radio Channel 19 Since the Broadcasting Department took over Cable Access Channel 19 in November of 1995, KMSU Radio has been broadcast live into more than 12,000 households in the Minot area. For years, the station's signal ran through a carrier current from Hartnett Hall to the rest of the university. Now, the station is broadcast over Channel 19 whenever KMSU-TV isn't airing programming. KMSU Radio is Minot's only alternative rock format station. Some of the music played is sent from small record producers who give CDs to college stations for promotional purposes.
