Position: Custodian

Position Description: Cleans, renovates and renews floor surface finishes and operates related equipment. Cleans and dusts furniture, fixtures and related furnishings. Collects and removes waste paper and other debris. Provides sanitary conditions in washrooms, and washes windows, walls and woodwork. Makes minor repairs to buildings and equipment. Moves furniture, supplies, and equipment. Cleans walks, shovels snow, and generally assists in keeping outside areas in a clean and orderly condition. Opens and secures buildings and classrooms on a predetermined schedule. Shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Selection Criteria: Must be able to perform a variety of custodial and manual tasks and have considerable knowledge of the methods, equipment and supplies used in the cleaning and upkeep of facilities. Requires the equivalent of successful completion of high school, and one year of custodial or facility maintenance experience including performing tasks such as vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing rest rooms and fixtures, and removing snow from sidewalks. A criminal history background check must be satisfied prior to employment.

Position: Director, Student Health

Position Description: Position reports to the Director of Student Wellness and Development. Expected hours through the academic year are 87% FTE and through the summer months are 40% FTE. The Director is responsible for the overall management of health services at Minot State University campus including teaching, counseling, and serving as a campus consultant on health related matters. The Director manages the Student Health Center and wellness efforts to:

  1. formulate, implement, and evaluate policies on campus related to health care issues.
  2. promote health and wellness on campus through outreach, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community involvement with faculty, staff and students.
  3. assure access to care and remove risk factors and barriers that may be beyond the student's control.
  4. utilize a nursing theory and public health model to demonstrate concern for those students who do not present themselves for care.
  5. maintain medical records and other documents in compliance with state and federal laws.
  6. maintain accepted standards of care when providing health care in the ambulatory setting.
  7. enhance student learning by promoting a healthy lifestyle, reducing risk behaviors, and providing health education in order to assist all students to succeed.
  8. provide professional and technical assistance together with the health care providers who deliver general health care services and prevention programs to the Minot State University community.
  9. collaborate with health care members in the Minot Community to plan and provide appropriate health care programs for Minot State students.

Selection Criteria: The director must have a bachelor's degree in nursing and current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in North Dakota with at least five years of experience in a clinical setting and at least one year of experience in a managerial or administrative role.

Position Description: Minot State University seeks an energetic, innovative service-oriented individual for the position of Cataloging Librarian. Library and Information Science professionals who are interested in providing cataloging in a wide variety of formats including but not limited to monographs, serials, e-resources and other items are encouraged to apply. Supervise a person in a clerical position, assigning work and checking for accuracy. Additional duties include regularly scheduled hours at the reference desk and some collection development responsibilities. This position reports directly to the Library Director.

Selection Criteria: A Masterís degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program; strong commitment to quality cataloging; experience in print and electronic resource cataloging; demonstrated working knowledge of cataloging rules, and tools such as MARC, AACR2, LCSH, LCC, and familiarity with RDA and authority control; experience with OCLC Bibliographic Utility/Connexion interface and ILS systems (preference ExLibris Aleph); familiarity with cataloging issues and standards, metadata standards, best practices, emerging trends in the cataloging field; demonstrated commitment to diversity and ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds; and proven supervisory experience. Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively and interact positively with various types of people. A criminal history background check must be satisfied prior to employment.

Position: Athletic Facilities Worker

Position Description: This position will be responsible for preparing and maintaining Minot State University Athletic Facilities for university related and public events. Duties include custodial services, general building maintenance, the setup and teardown of tables, chairs, athletic equipment, other associated equipment, and other assigned task. Duties also include the preparation and maintaining the athletic fields and the exteriors areas of the athletic facilities (building maintenance, mowing, shoveling snow, disposing of waste, etc.) Shifts are 6:00am - 2:30pm and 2:30pm - 11:00pm with adjustment in response to the schedule of the facilities events.

Selection Criteria: Requires the equivalent of successful completion of high school and one year of custodial/facility maintenance experience including tasks such as landscaping and grounds maintenance; or three years of custodial or facility maintenance experience. Must have the ability to perform semiskilled maintenance and repair work. Knowledge of the practice/procedures used in facility maintenance is required. Must be physically able to perform a variety of manual tasks and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with the general public. A criminal history background check must be satisfied prior to employment.
