2008-09 Season Review
The Minot State University
golf program had many successes in the 2008-09 season. The
men repeated as the Dakota Athletic Conference Champions.
Minot State dominated the individual standings as four of the six
players on the all-conference team were Minot State players.
Jordan Kelly, Carter Hilkewich and Justin Aberle went one-two-three
in the standings while Ben Edwards grabbed the last remianing spot
on the all-conference team. It was Hilkewich's and Aberle's
second appearance on the team. Jordan Kelly won DAC Most Valuable
Player honors for the third consecutive year. Kelly also earned
recognition as a NAIA Scholar Athlete. Chipper Farrell was
named Co-Coach of the Year. The men finished their season
by missing a trip to the NAIA National Meet with a one stroke loss
to St. Francis, IL at the NAIA Unaffiliated National Qualifier.
The women earned their
highest placing in the short history of the program with a runner-up
finish. Whitney Stanley finished second in the conference
standings earning her second All-Conference award. Stanley
finished the season strong by taking home the medal in the last
two conference meets.
