MSU assistant football and track
and field coach Jim Louis has accepted a position as an assistant football
coach at Wartburg College.
Louis has been at Minot State University
for five years, serving the past two years as the defensive coordinator in
football and the past five years working with the sprinters and jumpers in
track and field.
Wartburg College is located in Waverly
Iowa an participates at the NCAA III level.
I am extremely grateful for the
opportunity afforded to me by Coach Mike Siverston (Head Football Coach) and
Rick Hedberg (Athletic Director), to work with the wonderful student-athletes
I have had the good fortune to coach. "I will miss the athletes
and staff the most. Minot has been a wonderful place to start a family
with my wife Stacy, but with the upcoming birth of our third child we feel
it is extremely important to be closer to family. Family is the main
reason for making a change in location."
"Jim has been a great assistant
in both football and track and field during his time at MSU," Hedberg
said. 'He's a hard-working coach and he has earned a great deal of respect
from his athletes. We wish him the best.
Hedberg said a national search will
begin immediately in hopes of having someone hired by early June.
