2 Past players going into MSU Athletic Hall of Fame
Scot Deibert (1997) and Jason Beaver (1994) will be inductees into
the Minot State University Athletic Hall of Fame during the Homecoming
activities Saturday September 23rd.
Scott Deibert played football for the Beavers from 1994-1997, and
participated in track from 1996-1998. He was a four time all
conference football player while playing running back for the Be3avers.
In 1994 Deibert helped the Beavers to an NDCAC Championship and
a NAIA Playoff Berth. Deibert holds the MSU record for most
points in a season 122 in 1994, scoring average per game 11.09,
1994 and until recently was the signal season rushing leader
with 1036 yards in 1994.
Scott was drafted in the 3rd round of the CFL Draft, (17th overall)
by the Edmonton Eskimos. His CFL career lasted eight years
with stops in Edmonton, Winnipeg and Calgary where he was a member
of the 2001 Grey Cup Champion Calgary Stampeders.
Mr. Deibert was a three year letter winner in track and was the
1998 Conference 55 meter Champion.
Scott currently resides in Calgary, Alberta.
Jason Obenauer was a four year letterwinner for the MSU Football
team from 1991-1994. Obenauer was a team captain for the Beavers
in 1993 and 1994, All-Conference and All-District in 1993 and 1994,
and was an NAIA honorable mention All-American in 1993, as
well as a second team All-American in 1994.
Mr. Obenauer helped lead the Beavers to four NDCAC Conference Championships
and four NAIA National Playoff Appearances. While at MSU he
helped the Beavers to their highest finish ever with an appearance
in the NAIA Final Four in 1992. In 1994 he helped the Beavers
to the NAIA Elite Eight.
Jason is currently employed at Oliver-Mercer Electric Co-op in
Hazen, ND
