Rudolph announces additions to 2008 Beavers Football Program.

MSU Head Football Coach, Paul Rudolph, announced the addition of 14 new players who will help the Beavers defend their 2007 DAC conference Tri-Championship.  The list was announce to members of the local media, both television stations, KXMC and KMOT as well as The Minot Daily News attended the Press Conference held at 1 pm in the Christensen room of the Dome, on the campus of Minot State University.

Jeremy Kessler - 6' 175 – Puyallup , WA
A transfer from Monterey Peninsula College , Jeremy was the Defensive MVP of the Coast Conference. He was a first team All-Conference selection as well as being named to the Region IV All-State team of the California Junior College System. Jeremy will play both Corner and Safety for Minot State . Jeremy is enrolled in classes this spring at Minot State University .

Josh Orman – 5'9” 180 – Galt , CA
A transfer from Sacramento City College , Josh was a first team All-Conference selection in the Mid-Empire league. He was also selected as a Region I All-State DB. Josh will be a safety for the Beavers. Josh is enrolled in classes this spring at Minot State University .

George Duenas – 5'11” 285 – Lodi , CA
George is a two time selection to the All-conference team (Valley Conference). He was also selected as a team captain. He was Lineman of the year in the Lodi area during his high school career. George will play Guard, but can also play center. George played for San Joaquin Delta College. George is enrolled at Minot State University this spring.

Nic Fross – 6'4” 250 – Ukiah , CA
Nic was selected as a team captain for the Mendocino Eagles his sophomore season. He was also chosen as the Eagle Pride Award winner, which is given to the best teammate. Nic was a QB/TE at Ukiah High School and will play in the Offensive Line for the Beavers. Nic is enrolled at Minot State University this spring.

Mitch McKiel – 6'3” 295- Sherwood Park , AB
Mitch was a two-year offensive line MVP at Ardrossan Jr-Sr High and a starting offensive lineman for the U-19 Team Alberta . Mitch and Team Alberta won the National Championship in Canada . Mitch will play tackle for the Beavers. Mitch is enrolled in classes this spring at Minot State University .

Brett Mohr – 6”1” 185 – Southey , SK
Brett was captain of his high schools provincial championship football team. He was the Defensive player of the year and voted most inspirational. He also competes in hockey (captain) and track and field where he was a top 10 finisher in the province for the 100 meter hurdles and the 400 meter dash. He is ranked as one of the top four LB'ers in the province of Saskatchewan . He will play at the Will LB'er position.

Casten Hepner

 

Casten Heppner – 6'5” 250 – Box Elder, MT
Casten is a four year football letterman for Big Sandy High School . He is also a state competitor in the discus throw and has been a four year honor roll student as well as serving on the Student Government.

 

 


John Denne – 6'4” 185 – St. Cloud , MN
John was a two year letter-winner at free safety for the Tigers. His senior season was cut short due to a knee injury only playing in four games. He recorded 35 tackles and 3 pass break-ups his senior season. The team competed in the state semi-finals. He is also an outfielder for the Tigers. John will play safety for the Beavers.

Evan Warnert – 5'9” 155 – Sauk Rapids, MN
Evan was a two-year starter for the Storm as a safety and a receiver. He was an all Central Lakes conference pick and is also a state entrant in the Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament. Evan is also a starter on the Storm baseball team. Evan will play safety for the Beavers.

Mitch Haugeberg – 6'2” 290 – Minot , ND
Mitch was a three year starter for the Magicians and a two-year all-conference performer. He was a first team all-state selection and is arguably the best offensive lineman in ND this past season. Mitch was also a runner-up in the shot put at last springs state meet. Mitch was also a team captain for the 2007 Magician football team.

Brandon Goetz – 6' 260 – Minot , ND
Brandon was a two-year starter for the Magicians at a guard position. He was an all-conference performer as well as a second team all-state selection. He also wrestles and throws the shot put for the Magicians. He started several games on both sides of the ball.

Chris Compton – 6'2” 185 – Grand Forks , ND
Chris was a QB and a safety for the Roughriders. He will play safety for the Beavers

Ulysses Dalton – 6'1” 190 – Vallejo , CA
Ulysses will be a two-sport athlete for the Beavers. He is running track and is enrolled in the spring semester at Minot State University . He started for two seasons in the defensive secondary for the College of the Redwoods and most likely will sit out a red-shirt season for the Beavers this fall. He can play both corner and safety.

Clay Kallias – 5'10” 165 – Minot , ND
Clay will be a two-sport athlete for the Beavers. He will play baseball and football. Clay was a standout QB for the Ryan Lions as he led them to a State Semi-Final Berth this past fall. He also helped the Minot Vistas to the Championship game of the Central Regional.
