MSU Family & Youth Weekend Oct. 12-13

This week, Kevin Harmon is pacing the halls of MSU like an expectant father. Only he is not expecting one addition, he is hoping for hundreds. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12-13, MSU hosts its annual 2012 Family & Youth Weekend highlighting the campus, outstanding students, faculty and programs. Family Weekend is designed to bring families of MSU students together in a celebration of community and campus excellence at the University.

"The primary goal of Family &Youth Weekend is to build relationships between our students, their families and Minot State University. Students are our greatest treasure at Minot State and we want their brothers and sisters to feel comfortable on our campus and see it as their home someday, too," said Harmon, assistant vice president for Enrollment Management.

Harmon and his team of ambassadors have planned two days of fun and educational activities to acquaint families with the University environment. Events include campus tours, men’s and women’s basketball team scrimmage, meeting the head basketball coaches, study abroad presentations, athletic events, tailgating, prize giveaways, Buckshot the mechanical bull and free food. On Saturday, kids are welcome to join the YMCA Youth Beaver rush of the Herb Parker Stadium before MSU's game against University of Minnesota-Duluth.
