A native of the Southern Great Plains, Treven Edwards arrived at Minot State University in 2010. Prior to moving to Minot, he taught in the English and Literacy Education Departments at Plattsburgh State University in upstate New York, ran the Tutoring Center at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, TX, and taught in the English Department at The University of Texas in Arlington, TX. Immediately after graduate school, he worked as a management consultant to the nuclear power and weapons industry before reentering academia. He has also worked as a whitewater raft guide in the Adirondack Mountains.
His primary academic interests are classical Greek oratory, the use of technology in composition classes, and helping students adjust to the demands of university life.
He has made several presentations at academic and industrial conferences, most recently at the State University of New York Conference on Writing in 2009.
Treven was also the Assoc. Editor, Journal of Ethics and Critical Thinking, 1993-1995
